“Feel the rhythm, hear my feelings”

Today's TeenGen is a lot more vocal and expressive with what they're going through or what's on their minds. Whether it be a kilig moment with crush, heartbreak, getting recognized in school, or a cause they strongly support, teens of these days can teach us a thing or two about having no holds barred.

It has been a year since our Homecoming to Teen Love, this year, Coke Studio brings us its 3rd Season: MyFeels. Indeed, no one does it better than Coke when it comes to launches with the Coke Studio Music Festival that commenced the Coke Studio Season 3: MyFeels last August 23 at the Circuit Makati with our hosts from the Summer Concert Ylona Garcia and Justin Quirino.

Headlined by Coke Studio Season 3 artists, we welcomed the rainy season with rush of water and stream of feelings ranging from love, freedom, independence, and moving forward. We moved to the groove with Iñigo Pascual, Ron Henley, Al James, Lola Amour, This Band, and Miss Sarah Geronimo while Janine Teñoso, Clara Benin, Bea Lorenzo, Silent Sanctuary, Brisom, St. Wolf, Just Hush, UDD, and Morisette serenaded us with their solo performances. Also giving us surprise numbers were Coke Studio Seasons 1 and 2 alums Ben & Ben, December Avenue, and IV of Spades.

We used to be shy about sharing what we feel, no matter what it is, to people around us even the ones we trust. Coke Studio: MyFeels is here to turn the tables, its time to celebrate our feels and make it known that no one can dictate the validity of our feelings. Just when we thought 2019 is going too fast and time is running out for us, Coke Studio came to the rescue with its 3rd Season and made us realize to celebrate every single thing no matter how little they are, look out for the possibilities that learning from triumphs and slumps can give us, and keep in touch with the feels of people around us and ourselves.

Registration for Baristas’ Quest in Davao, Baguio and Cebu, Now Open!

Calling all Baristas and Coffee Enthusiasts in the Philippines!

The registration is now open for Baristas’ Quest, a campaign of competitions created for baristas and coffee enthusiasts to showcase their skills in coffee that will take place in Davao, Baguio and Cebu this July.

Three different competitions are prepared for the month-long campaign. If you can identify a unique coffee in a set of cups, you may join the Flavors + Profiles: Coffee Triangulation—a cup tasting activity that will be held at the Frog Kaffe in Davao City on July 3.

For artists who can create designs using milk, Baguio City will be having the Coffee + Art: Latte Art Throwdown at Halfroom Coffee on July 10.

Meanwhile, for individuals who can extract rich coffee flavors into a cup, the Kettle + Cup: Coffee Brewing Challenge is set to happen at the Tightrope Coffee in Cebu City on July 25.

Michael Harris Lim, President and CEO of Henry & Sons Trading and Manufacturing Company, Inc., who is also the 2019 Philippine National Barista Champion and the 2019 World Barista Championship Semi-Finalist, leads the Baristas’ Quest campaign.

“Over the years, our company is committed in championing the local coffee scene through programs that promote sustainability in our coffee industry—from the farmers down to our baristas—by alleviating their status, improving their skills, and promoting camaraderie,” said Michael Harris Lim.

The champions of these competitions will get the chance to represent his or her region by getting a competitor sponsorship package for the National Coffee Championships, a travel allowance and accommodation to the National Barista Conference happening in Manila this September, and a Comandante Grinder! #SundinAngPuso: Pepsi celebrates all kinds of passions at #PepsiPusoFest

May 17, 2019 -- Pepsi recently brought everyone together for #PepsiPusoFest, a fun-filled day of singing, dancing, styling and games for those who live and celebrate their passions. Held at Market! Market!, the #PepsiPusoFest became an avenue for everyone to express themselves freely for the love of different passion points through interactive and fun activities.

Up and coming artists such as Renee Dominique and Dominique Casacop took the stage to show off their vocal stylings while A-Team and Upeepz pumped up the jam with their dance routines. A showcase of out of the box skills was also exhibited throughout the program with basketball tricks by Hype Streetball, pen-tapping by Dineson Caneda, beatboxing by Neil Rey Llanes, freestyle yoyo tricks by champion Miggy Hizon and comedy by Comedy Manila. The guests were also treated to fun games which got them to play with pro volleyball and basketball stars!

The main show included musical performances by Unique and Kiana Valenciano, viral star Mimiyuuh featuring Allmost, along with a dance numbers from AC Bonifacio and America’s Got Talent finalist, Junior New System. Daniel Padilla also made a very special appearance to serenade his fans and give them treasured possessions that have always been close to his heart. Aside from topnotch performances, different activities were also in store for the guests to showcase their talents and get lots of fun prizes. For the Love of Stories, guests were able to take the spotlight to shoot their own rendition of Pepsi’s new jingle entitled Sundin ang Puso in collaboration with global pop group NowUnited. Always wondered what you’d look like with a different hair color? The Love of Style booth gave guests a chance to temporarily transform their hair to a shade they love from the style menu. The Love of Dance gave guests the opportunity to dance to the beat of the Sundin Ang Puso jingle. Lastly, guests were able to dabble into singing and record their performance with their friends in the Love of Singing booth.

“Pepsi’s #SundinAngPuso campaign is all about encouraging Filipinos to pursue the things they have always wanted to do and to be confident in expressing themselves”, says Gutzee Segura, Pepsi Philippines Marketing Manager. “Through the #PepsiPusoFest, we wanted to give Filipinos an avenue to showcase their different passions and embrace whatever they do for the love of it.”

With all these passion-filled activities, #PepsiPusoFest left everyone’s hearts inspired to take on anything and everything, all for the love of it!

Andok’s champions lasting memories this Mother’s Day with #HourMama campaign

May 12, 2019 - MAKATI, Philippines - When was the last time we took some time off to create a lasting memory with our mother? This question and our tendency to be overly connected to technology led to popular Litson Manok chain Andok’s to take a back-to-basics observance of Mother’s Day. This year, Andok’s seeks to inspire families to disconnect from their mobile devices and create lasting memories with their mothers on their special day. Dubbed as #HourMama, Andok’s campaign seeks to encourage people to dedicate at least an hour for some uninterrupted bonding time with their mother.

“Over the years, we have seen technology successfully bridge various gaps in human experience. However, we tend to be so excited with the advancements and the connections we can make from afar that we forget to give the gift of being present to our loved ones who are right beside us,” shared Maverick Javier, Executive Vice President of Andok’s Litson Corporation. “This inspired us to encourage everyone to take an hour of their time to take a step back, look around, and create new core memories with the people around them. And we thought it is best to kick-off this campaign by sharing new memories with our mothers on their special day.” The campaign kicks off at Andok’s branch in Makati Avenue where customers and guests go offline from 12 noon to an hour and connect with the mothers in the restaurant. PH Barista Champion Builds a Coffee School for the Filipinos

Michael Harris Lim, the 2019 Philippine National Barista Champion and the first Filipino to make it to the semi-finals of the World Barista Championship in Boston, USA, opens the Institute for Coffee Excellence, an educational institution committed to developing a variety of educational initiatives that focuses on instilling positive values that will help grow and excel as coffee professionals.

After successfully sharing his advocacies in the international stage, Harris continues to carry out his life’s work of creating a fully-sustainable coffee economy and takes another step towards realizing this vision—by officially opening the Institute for Coffee Excellence.

Since he first ventured in the coffee business in 2001, he has been committed in providing solutions to elevate the quality of local crops and equip the Filipino farmers with tools and knowledge to help them keep up with the evolving industry. But through the competitions, Harris was able to see the industry in the perspective of a barista which made him realize that they also needed training in delivering the best coffee experience. As he stated, “This journey has inspired me to create a space to nurture the baristas and our Filipino coffee farmers.” Thus, he built the Institute for Coffee Excellence to have its thrust work at both ends of the spectrum: for farmers and baristas.

Harris envisions the institute as an instrument in fostering a community that works together for total sustainability to achieve the ultimate goal of having an increasingly steady food and coffee security for the Philippines and for the future generations to come. “The transformation of a community begins with education. In the case of our coffee community, I believe we would have to start by empowering our farmers and baristas with the knowledge, values and passion to work towards a beautiful coffee future,” he shares.

Prior to his participation in the national and world competitions, Harris makes vigorous effort in extending a helping hand to the thriving coffee industry as a social entrepreneur. While he actively supports coffee-producing communities in Benguet through the platforms he built such as the Foundation for Sustainable Coffee Excellence (FSCE) and The Giving Café, his eagerness to create greater initiatives that will benefit the local industry never ceased.

Driving his inspiration from the members of the coffee community, he's also aiming to make the Foundation for Sustainable Coffee Excellence as the country’s National Body licensed by World Coffee Events to hold the next competitions in 2020.
